Toward a Public-Interest Approach to Copyright Policy in the Era of Generative AI

In 2023, the Government of Canada launched consultations on the topic of adapting Canada's copyright framework in the rapidly developing context of generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools, like ChatGPT. While new tools offer promise, both policy and technology can contribute to potential risks and impacts that should be considered and addressed in Canada's copyright framework. GoodBot’s submission focuses on issues impacting end users which are likely to be underrepresented in consultation processes. GoodBot’s submission can be found on Medium or download our submission here.
